Ben Ivey from Mississippi College | Building your Online Brand  | 1.5H, General, Intermediate
Learn to create a foundation for your online personal brand.  In this workshop, we will discuss ways to get ahead in your career by building a brand presence on your personal website, with social media, and in your portfolio.  I'll also walk through setting up a simple website and how to optimize it for your career goals. ​Laptop is recommended.

Beth Miller from Mississippi State University | Rendering Methods and Techniques | 1.5H, General, Intermediate
Learn new hand rendering methods and techniques for use in illustrating sketches, elevations, and perspectives. Paper will be provided; bring Marker Blender/s, Markers, Mechanical pencil (I like a BIC Pencil 0.7mm HB #2), Colored pencils, pencil blender, eraser (white one), and a small plastic triangle.

Is taking the NCIDQ exam in your future? A group of designers discuss their own experiences preparing for and taking all parts of the NCIDQ exam. Resources, study tactics and tips will be shared. Q & A and networking included.

This presentation is an in-depth look at a design process that takes the principles of Acting and Theatre Production and parallels these principles with the process of designing a commercial property, such as a hotel, restaurant or other interactive commercial space.  

Lylyn Hingle Stockstill from LP Solutions | Forms of Turnable Light, What You Need to Know | 1.0H, General, Intermediate
This course will provide an overview of the basics of tunable white light and the available approaches to tuning, mixing, and controlling tunable white systems. Topics covered include types of tunable white. Approaches to tuning/mixing and controls, as well as emerging applications within the tunable light space.

Melessa Reddit from Magnuson Group, OED Reps | Nature in the Workplace: How we can learn and benefit from nature when creating the man made? | 1.0H, HSW, Intermediate
This presentation will familiarize attendees with the biophilic design and science behind it (and provide the sources of data to prove claims), as well as provide them the knowledge to analyze the economic potential of their own workplaces or learning environments.

Blurring the lines between interior design and graphic design enables us to create and strengthen emotional connections between a project and its audience. The presenters will discuss the collaboration of Interior Design and Graphic Design and a five-year exploration of process, storytelling, communication, materiality and spatial perspective.

The goal of this course is to review the concept of Universal Design, then deep dive into how Kitchen Appliances can play a big role in completing a kitchen project that incorporates the guidelines of Universal Design. This course discusses the importance of appliance design, technology, and placement, and how appliance manufacturers now incorporate many features to support the goals of Universal Design..

Schluter Systems |  Combining Design and Function in Today's ADA Compliant Bathroom | 1.0H, HSW, Intermediate
Mandated requirements for ADA compliancy and demand from an aging population are creating a growing need for barrier-free bathrooms. Today’s ADA compliant bathroom no longer has to be utilitarian or “institutional” in its design. Design options are enhanced through the use of tile and innovative construction methods. The result is beautiful bathrooms that also adhere to ADA standards for accessible design.
